MALACAÑANG countered Vice President Sara Duterte’s claim that Filipinos are losing hope under the current administration, saying the public should instead be able to feel her presence and leadership.
Palace Press Officer Atty. Claire Castro said that if Duterte were in the country, she would see the government’s projects, programs, and assistance benefiting many Filipinos.
She added that the vice president remains unaware of these initiatives because she is not around to witness them.
“It’s no surprise that she doesn’t see the government’s efforts if she’s not even in the country to watch what’s being done for the people,” Castro said.
The official also took a swipe at Duterte’s frequent trips abroad, arguing that a leader who spends more time overseas than addressing domestic concerns would be a burden to the Filipino people.
Castro said, referring to Duterte, who has been in The Hague, Netherlands, since March 13.
