SINIGURO ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) na protektado ang mga dati at kasalukuyang lider ng bansa kasunod ng asasinasyon kay dating Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
Ayon kay AFP spokesperson Col. Medel Aguilar, dalawang security units ang nagbabantay upang masiguro ang kaligtasan nina President Marcos at Vice President Sara Duterte.
Ang mga ito, aniya, ay ang Presidential Security Group (PSG) at ang Vice Presidential Security and Protection Group (VPSPG).
“We have the PSG and the VPSPG to protect the President and the Vice President, respectively. In coordination with these units, we provide additional security coverages in places of their engagements,” paliwanag ni Aguilar.
Maliban sa mga ito, mayroong ding karagdagang security personnel na itinatalaga sa mga lugar na pinupuntahan nina Marcos at Duterte.
“It is for the units I mentioned to determine force requirements for the security operations. They are led by competent officers,” dagdag niya.
