INIREKOMENDA ng National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) kay Pangulong Bongbong Marcos ang pagdedeklara ng isang taong national state of calamity sa harap ng pananalasa ng Severe Tropical Storm Paeng.
Sinabi ni NDRRMC executive director Raymundo Ferrer kay Marcos na 16 sa 17 rehiyon sa bansa abg nasa high risk dahil sa mga pagbaha at landslide na dulot ni “Paeng”.
“The Philippines should declare a national state of calamity due to the effects, damage and projected impacts by Severe Tropical Storm Paeng for a period of one year, unless earlier lifted,” sabi ni Ferrer.
Ayon naman kay Marcos, hihintayin niya ang opisyal na rekomendasyon ng NDRRMC.
“Sabagay madaming regions ang affected so that justifies the state of calamity,” sagot naman ni Marcos.
