DALAWANG taon simula nang magkapandemya, muling pinangunahan ni Pangulong Duterte ang pagtatapos ng Philippine Military Academy (PMA) para sa Class of 2022 sa Fort General Gregorio H. del Pilar sa Baguio City ngayong Linggo.
Sa kanyang talumpati, binati ni Duterte ang 214 nagtapos na kadete sa pamumuno ng kanilang valedictorian na si Cadet 1 Class Krystlenn Ivani Quemado ng South Cotobato.
Sinabi ni Duterte na bagamat magtatapos na ang kanyang termino sa Hunyo 30, 2022, nagsisimula pa lamang ang kanilang serbisyo sa bayan.
“In contrast, your responsibility to uphold, protect and secure people’s rights, lives and properties officially starts today, although I am sure that that responsibility was nascent when you enrolled in this academy years ago — four years to be exact,” sabi ni Duterte.
Idinagdag ni Duterte na bagamat ginawa na ng kanyang administrasyon ang lahat ng kampanya para solusyunan ang mga problema sa bansa, nagpapatuloy pa rin ang mga ito.
“Sad to admit, after six years, these ills hound us still though to some lesser degree of intensity. Corruption, red tape, and illegal drugs, and crime and criminalities are the wrongs that we need to correct,” dagdag ni Duterte.
“I guess it is in the hands of the next generation of Filipino leaders and movers where our salvation rests. You, the Bagsik Diwa Class of 2022 belong to that generation,” ayon pa kay Duterte.
