TINIYAK ni Pangulong Duterte na pananagutin niya ang mga pulis na mapapatunayang umabuso habang ipinatutupad ang kaniyang kampanya laban sa droga.
Ginawa ni Duterte ang pagtiyak nang humarap ito sa pamamagitan ng address sa High-Level General Debate ng 76th Session ng United Nations General Assembly.
“I have instructed the Department of Justice and the Philippine National Police to review the conduct of our campaign against illegal drugs. Those found to have acted beyond bounds during operations shall be made accountable before our laws,” sabi ni Duterte.
Kasalukuyang nahaharap sa full investigation ng International Criminal Court ang Duterte administration dahil sa kasong crime against humanity bunsod ng war on drugs na ikinasawi ng ilang libong buhay.
“We have recently finalized with the United Nations our Joint Program on Human Rights. This is a model for constructive engagement between a sovereign Member State and the United Nations,” dagdag ni Duterte.
