TAHASANG sinabi ng Malacañang na hindi makikipagtulungan ang pamahalaan sa isasagawang imbestigasyon ng International Criminal Court kaugnay sa gera ni Pangulong Duterte kontra droga.
Iginiit ni Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo na walang hurisdiksyon ang ICC para imbestigahan si Duterte.
“Hence, the development that a pre-trial chamber of the ICC has authorized an investigation into alleged crimes committed in our territory neither bothers nor troubles the President and his administration,” paliwanag ni Panelo.
Nauna nang inaprubahan ng ICC ang pagsasagawa ng pormal na imbestigasyon kaugnay sa umano’y paglabag ni Duterte sa mga karapatang pantao.
“We stress that we are able and willing to prosecute those who abuse their power and commit crimes against the citizenry if only genuine complainants come forward to the proper authorities instead of personalities who will use their plight for political ambitions,” giit pa ni Panelo. –WC
