NAGBANTA si Pangulong Duterte na ipatitigil nito ang transaksyon ng gobyerno sa Philippine Red Cross kung hindi ito magsusumite ng financial records para ma-audit.
Sa kanyang taped public address na inere ngayong Sabado, sinabi ni Duterte na susulatan niya ang PRC para buksan ang mga libro nito para ma-audit.
“In the coming days, I will write you a letter to open up your records because I will also request [COA chair Michael] Aguinaldo—and I am sure he knows his business—that there is money in Red Cross belonging to the government which he has to look into,” ayon kay Duterte na ang pinatutungkulan ay si Senador Richard Gordon na siya ring chairman ng Red Cross.
“Kung ayaw mo, mapipilitan akong totally disassociate with you. I will stop the national government from having transactions with you in any manner. Wala akong pakialam, hindi ako magbigay ng pera sayo,” dagdag pa ni Duterte.
“As far as I am concerned, Red Cross does not exist. When you can create a controversy there or a crisis, I do not mind because I said I am on the right track. Either you submit an auditing procedure or we quarrel,” anya pa.
Ginawa ni Duterte ang pananakot matapos sumambulat sa pagdinig ng Senate blue ribbon committee ang mga iregularidad sa kanyang administrasyon na may kaugnayan sa pagbili ng overpriced na PPEs, face mask at face shield.
