A SIMULTANEOUS candle lighting tribute will be held on June 19, 2025, to mark the 100th day in custody of former President Rodrigo Duterte under the International Criminal Court (ICC).
The main gathering will take place at Rizal Park in Davao City at 5:30 p.m., with similar events expected in The Hague, Bacolod, Cagayan de Oro, and other parts of the country and the world.
Organizers of the event are calling on Filipinos to come together in a show of unity and prayer, as they continue to call for Duterte’s immediate release.
“This is not just a number. It is 100 days of injustice. 100 days of waiting, hoping, and firmly believing in the truth,” read a statement released by supporters.
The tribute, led by allies and supporters of the former president, urges the public to light candles and offer prayers as a symbolic gesture for what they describe as an “unjust captivity.”
“Bring your light and bring your love for our nation. Let the world witness our unity and hear our call for justice.”
The movement has adopted the message: “Bring Him Home.”
