INIHAYAG ni Justice Secretary Boying Remulla na inatasan siya ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos na suspindihin si Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) Director-General Gerald Bantag sa harap ng pagkamatay ng sinasabing middleman sa pagpaslang sa brodkaster na si Percy Lapid
“He (Marcos) asked me to suspend Undersecretary Director General Bantag of BuCor so that there will be a fair and impartial investigation on the matter, so that all doubts will be laid to rest, that there are no sacred cows in the administration,” sabi ni Remulla sa press conference.
Anya, ito ang sinabi ni Marcos nang mag-ulat siya hinggil sa development ng kaso ng pagpatay kay Lapid.
Ayon pa kay Remulla, kahapon lamang niya nalaman ang pagkamatay ng middleman na kinalalang Jun Villamor matapos itong ipaalam sa kanya ni Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos.
“I was never informed about this. Kahapon lang, nang sabihin ni Secretary Abalos na the person has died so I tried to find out,” dagdag pa ni Remulla.
Sinabi pa ni Remulla na nasa kustodiya na ng Philippine National Police (PNP) ang isa pang sinasabing middleman sa pagpatay kay Lapid.
