TINIYAK ni US Secretary of State Antony Blinken kay Pangulong Bongbong Marcos ang pagpapatupad ng Mutual Defense Treaty matapos mag-courtesy call sa Malacanang ngayong Sabado.
“We’re also working together as partners in so many different areas particularly economically, and of course, the alliance is strong…We’re committed to the mutual defense treaty. We’re committed to working with you on shared challenges,” sabi ni Blinken.
“The Mutual Defense Treaty is in constant evolution, I’d like to think of it. We can no longer isolate one part of our relationship from the other,” sagot naman ni Marcos.
Nangyari ang pagbisita ni Blinken ilang matapos naman ang pagdalaw ni US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi sa Taiwan.
“We are too closely tied because of the special relationship between the United States and the Philippines and the history that we share. And of course, all the assistance and help and support that we have received from the United States over the years,” dagdag ni Marcos.
