51% Pinoys want Duterte held accountable for drug war killings – SWS

A recent Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey shows that 51 percent of Filipinos believe former President Rodrigo Duterte should be held accountable for the killings linked to his administration’s war on drugs.

Meanwhile, 25 percent disagreed, 14 percent were undecided, and 10 percent had no opinion.

Support for accountability was highest in the Visayas (62 percent), followed by Balance Luzon (49 percent), Mindanao (47 percent), and the National Capital Region (45 percent).

Rural respondents were slightly more supportive (52 percent) than those in urban areas (48 percent).

The survey, conducted from February 15 to 19 and commissioned by Stratbase Consultancy, involved 1,800 registered voters with a ±2.31 percent margin of error.

Duterte, facing an ICC arrest warrant for alleged crimes against humanity, was detained in The Hague on March 12. A hearing to confirm the charges is set for September 23.
