IBINUNYAG ni Pangulong Duterte na patay na ang 36 nawawalang sabungero.
“The culture among cockfighting enthusiasts and syndicates is different. Nagkabukuhan lang sila. The problem is they killed everyone. Thirty-eight? Thirty-six? Because they’re involved in the betting. They did it in different provinces so that it wouldn’t seem obvious, but they placed their bets on favorites and underdogs, depending on their agreement,” sabi ni Duterte sa isang talumpati sa Leyte.
Idinagdag ni Duterte na ilang suspek na ang nahuli ng mga pulis.
“Now the police caught some of the suspects, those from the management and some people in the cockpit,” ayon pa kay Duterte.
Aniya, kapag nagkakaroon ng dayaan, magdadalawang isip ang mga tumataya na lumahok pa sa e-sabong.
“Because if cheating is involved, you lose your patronage. People will be wary of placing their bets if something like that is happening. So that’s what happened there,” paliwanag pa ni Duterte.
