TAIWANESE actress Barbie Hsu was cremated in Japan on Monday, but her family remains uncertain about when her ashes will be brought back to Taiwan due to “complex procedures.”
Hsu’s mother, speaking through producer Wang Weizhong, expressed gratitude for the public’s concern but admitted the family is overwhelmed with grief.
Wang explained that repatriating Hsu’s remains involves intricate legal processes, causing the delay.
As such, he said, Hsu’s family “will not be able to return to Taiwan for a while.”
Wang also urged the media to respect the family’s privacy.
“During her lifetime, Barbie valued her privacy. Please refrain from taking photos or following us once we return to Taiwan. This was her lifelong wish and we hope you can respect that,” he added.
