NAIBENTA sa subasta sa England nitong Miyerkules ang isang piraso ng cake mula sa kasal nina Prince Charles at Lady Diana noong 1981.
Ang halaga ng cake, na hindi pwedeng kainin, ay £1,850 o humigit-kumulang P128,000.
Ang cake na gawa sa marzipan at white icing na may dekorasyon na royal coat of arms ay inaasahan lamang na mabibili sa halagang £500.
“We were amazed at the numbers of people wanting to bid on this large and unique piece of royal cake icing,” ayon sa auctioneer na si Chris Albury, isang royal memorabilia specialist ng Dominic Winter Auctioneers sa Cirencester, England.
“There were lots of inquiries from bidders, mostly in the UK, the USA and several countries in the Middle East,” aniya.
Ang nagwaging bidder ay si Gerry Layton mula sa Leeds.
“I have always been a monarchist and I had been to see the wedding dress at Kensington Palace,” pahayag ni Layton.
“I thought I would like to add it to my estate, which will be going to charity after my death. I will have to think of a way to stop myself from trying to eat it though,” aniya.
Ang cake ay pag-aari ni Moyra Smith, na dating empleyado ng ina ni Queen Elizabeth II.
