PASIG City Mayor Vico Sotto said he has no plans to run for a national post in the 2028 elections, despite calls from supporters for him to seek higher office.
“I appreciate it, but walang plano o ano… Hindi naman porke’t politiko ay dapat pataas ka nang pataas eh. Ayaw n’yo nga ng traditional politics, ’di ba?” Sotto told reporters when asked about the clamor for him to enter national politics.
He added: “Ayan ang mga tanong ko sa mga ‘yan. Ayaw n’yo nga ng trapo, ’di ba? So dapat hindi laging ganoon ‘yung pag-iisip.”
Sotto, who was recently reelected for a third term as mayor, has been praised for his brand of governance and transparency.
