Romualdez, Tingog vow strong ‘Waray’ votes for ‘Alyansa’

TACLOBAN CITY – Speaker Martin Romualdez and the Tingog Party-list rallied thousands in Eastern Visayas on Thursday night, promising a united Waray vote behind President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s senatorial slate under the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas.

Speaking before a massive crowd, Romualdez, president of Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats, said the rally was more than just a political gathering — it was a declaration of unity and support for the President’s vision.

“This is a movement for a better Philippines. Eastern Visayas stands firm and ready to lead the charge,” he said.

The event was hosted by Lakas-CMD and Tingog, represented by Reps. Yedda K. Romualdez and Jude Acidre. Among the key officials in attendance were Eastern Samar Gov. Ben Evardone, Southern Leyte Gov. Damian Mercado, Majority Leader Erwin Tulfo, and Sen. Francis Tolentino. Representatives of senatorial candidates including Abby Binay, Bong Revilla, Pia Cayetano, and Manny Pacquiao also joined.

Rep. Yedda Romualdez called the gathering “a coalition of conviction,” while Acidre emphasized the local leaders’ endorsement as a show of trust and shared purpose.

“This isn’t just about names — it’s about candidates who understand the realities on the ground,” Acidre said.

With over 3 million registered voters in the region, Romualdez believes Eastern Visayas can significantly shape the 2025 elections. “This fight is not just about politics — it’s about hope, opportunity, and building a stronger future under Bagong Pilipinas,” he added.
