Cynthia Villar after defeat in Las Piñas: ‘Hindi ito paalam’

SENATOR Cynthia Villar has accepted her loss in the congressional race in Las Piñas City, after being soundly beaten by independent candidate and incumbent Councilor Mark Anthony Santos.

“Bagamat hindi tayo pinalad sa halalan, taos-puso ang aking pasasalamat sa inyong suporta at tiwala,” Villar wrote in a statement posted on her official Facebook page.

Santos was officially proclaimed by the city’s board of canvassers on Tuesday morning.

Based on partial and unofficial results, Santos received 108,206 votes, while Villar garnered 78,526.
