THE Commission on Elections (Comelec), sitting as the National Board of Canvassers, officially proclaimed the 12 winning senators of the 2025 midterm elections on Saturday, May 17, at the Manila Hotel Tent City.
Leading the list is reelected Bong Go who gained over 27 million votes, followed by returning Senator Bam Aquino with more than 20,971,899 votes and reelected Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa with 20,773,946.
Other proclaimed winners were Erwin Tulfo, Kiko Pangilinan, Rodante Marcoleta, Panfilo Lacson, Tito Sotto, Pia Cayetano, Camille Villar, Lito Lapid and Imee Marcos.
Five of the 12 newly elected senators were endorsed by Vice President Sara Duterte, including her father’s close allies Go and Dela Rosa, as well as coalition candidates Marcos and Villar, who hail from prominent political families.
Another five winners were aligned with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., while opposition bets Aquino and Pangilinan completed the list—both securing seats despite not being expected to place in the top ranks.
The Comelec finished the canvassing of 175 certificates of canvass (COC) only three days after the polls, making it the tallying of official votes in the poll body’s history.
