INATASAN ng National Privacy Commission (NPC) ang Commission on Elections na magsumite ng ulat kaugnay ng umano’y hacking sa mga server ng Comelec.
Sinabi ni NPC Commissioner John Henry Naga na kailangang isumite ng Comelec ang resulta ng imbestigasyon nito sa Enero 22, 2022.
“The COMELEC must address the serious allegations… and determine whether personal data were indeed compromised,” sabi ni Naga.
Nauna nang napaulat na na-hack ng isang grupo ng mga hacker ang server ng poll body at nakuha ang impormasyon ng mga botante at iba pang sentisibong impormasyon.
“Rest assured that the NPC does not tolerate any act in violation of the Data Privacy Act including negligence in implementing organizational, physical, and technical security measures on personal data processing systems, whether in government or private institutions,” aniya.
