MATAPOS maiproklama bilang susunod na pangulo ng bansa, hiniling ni President-elect Bongbong Marcos Jr. sa publiko na siya ay ipagdasal upang magampanan niya nang maayos ang kanyang tungkulin.
“Pray for me. Wish me well,” hiling ni Marcos.
Inihayag din niya na bagamat hindi siya magiging perpekto, susubukin pa rin anya ng kanyang magiging administrasyon na maging maayos ang kanilang paglilingkod.
“Beyond that, I promise you that we may not be perfect but we will always strive for perfection. Thank you very much,” pahayag ni Marcos nang makapanayam ng mga reporter matapos ang kanyang proklamasyon sa Batasan Pambansa sa Quezon City nitong Miyerkules.
“I am inspired by this responsibility that has been given me… Ask you all, pray for me, wish me well. I want to do well because when a president does well, the country does well. And I want to do well for this country,” anya pa.
“I am humbled because, for anyone in public service or in a public life, the most valuable thing you may receive from a fellow citizen is their vote.”
“Because embedded in that vote are their hopes and their aspirations for the future. But also embedded in that vote are the trust and the confidence that they give to you to take them to that aspirational future,” dagdag pa ni Marcos.
Nakakuha si Marcos ng 31,629,783 boto, base sa official count ng Kongreso. Ang pumangalawa sa kanya na si Vice President Leni Robredo ay nakakuha naman ng 15,035,773 boto.
