INIHAYAG ni Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama na nakatakda niyang pirmahan ngayong araw ang executive order na nag-aatas na hindi na magiging mandatory ang pagsusuot ng face mask sa lungsod.
“It’s an order declaring of face mask within the jurisdiction of Cebu City as non-obligatory but a measure of individual self-preservation and protection. Yun talaga ang focus niyan,” sabi ni Rama sa panayam sa DZMM.
Idinagdag ni Rama na dapat maging bukas ang national government sa pagbabago sa harap ng posibilidad na tutulan ito ng Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) at ng Department of Health (DOH).
“We have to rise up and move forward and be more already looking at from the point of view of pragmatism… Let’s look at beyond not much of being responsive now but more of being open,” dagdag ni Rama.
Matatandaang si Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia ang unang naglabas ng kautusan na kaugnay ng hindi na pagsusuot ng face mask.
