NAITALA sa bansa ang kauna-unahang kaso ng BA.2.12 Omicron subvariant, ayon sa Department of Health, at 44 close contact ang ngayon ay sinusubaybayan.
Ayon sa DOH, may siyam na close contact sa Quezon City, lima sa Benguet, at 30 iba pa ang nakasalamuha ng infected ng nasabing virus habang sakay ng commercial flight papuntang Maynila.
“As to the close contacts, she had nine close contacts in Quezon City, she also had five close contacts in Benguet and all of them are being closely monitored. some of them were tested already which turned out to be negative,” ayon kay Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire.
“We got the manifesto already from the airplane. We had our contact tracing already. She had a total of 30 close contacts, near contacts in the airplane,” dagdag pa niya.
Ayon kay Vergeire, karamihan sa mga close contact ng pasyente ay fully vaccinated na at ang ilan ay nagnegatibo na sa COVID-19.
“All of them are being closely monitored and nobody is experiencing symptoms as of this time,” ayon kay Vergeire.
Ang unang kaso ng BA.2.12 Omicron subvariant sa bansa ay isang 52-taon gulang na babaeng Finnish na dumating mula sa Finland noong Abril 2.
