DUMISTANSYA ang Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) sa sinabi ni Undersecretary Epimaco Densing III na walang ibang solusyon ang pamahalaan sa problema ng Covid-19 kundi bakuna.
“The Department wishes to clarify that the views expressed by Usec. Epimaco Densing III… about the government’s response to the surge is his own personal opinion and does not reflect the position of the DILG,” ani Interior and Local Government spokesperson Usec. Jonathan Malaya sa kalatas.
Matatandaang sinabi ni Densing na hindi nakinita ng pamahalaan na mas dadami ang bilang ng Covid-19 cases ngayong taon kumpara noong 2020.
“This is a problem which we cannot anticipate. We do not know how the problem will move. We have no direct solutions right now except the vaccines,” sabi ni Densing.
“We expected a vacation or holiday surge, and even the Traslacion, but it did not happen. The system was strong until the second surge came in the first week of March but it was more than what was expected last year,” dagdag niya.
Sagot ni Malaya, handa ang gobyerno sa pagsipa ng bilang ng mga nagkakasakit.
“The DILG is devoting all of its time, efforts, and resources together with other government agencies in containing the surge,” sabi ni Malaya.
Aniya, nakaplano na ang pagpapaigting sa contact tracing, pagtatayo ng dagdag na isolation facilities at triage centers, at pagdadagdag ng Covid-19 beds sa mga ospital.
