IPINAG-UTOS ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos sa Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) na suspindehin ang nakatakdang pagtataas ng premium rate na nakatakda sana ngayong taon.
Sa ipinalabas na memorandum ni Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, inatasan niya si Health Officer-in-charge at PhilHealth Chairperson Maria Rosario Vergeire na ipagpaliban ang ipatutupad na karagdagang kontribusyon na magsisimula sana ngayong Enero.
“In light of the prevailing socioeconomic challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, and provide financial relief to our countrymen amidst these difficult times, please be informed that President has directed the PhilHealth to suspend the increase in premium rate and income ceiling for 2023, subject to applicable laws, rules and regulations,” sabi ni Bersamin.
Nakatakda sanang itaas sa 4.5 porsiyento ang kontribusyon sa PhilHealth mula sa kasalukuyang apat na porsiyento.
