UMAPELA si Senador Grace Poe sa mga gas station operator na magbigay ng diskwento sa presyo ng kanilang mga produkto bilang tulong sa publiko na apektado ng walang humpay na pagtaa ng presyo ng petrolyo.
Ayon kay Poe, chairperson ng Senate committee on public services, “unconscionable at this time to amass earnings as high oil prices squeeze the people dry.”
“In the absence of oil price control under a deregulated regime, we urge operators of gasoline stations to ensure competitive prices by offering its customers discounts on fuel products,” ayon kay Poe sa isang kalatas.
“This will benefit both the public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers and private motorists who are hurting from the incessant oil price increases as we continue to survive through the pandemic,” dagdag pa ni Poe.
Hiniling din ng senador sa gobyerno na ilabas na nito ang subsidy para sa mga driver ng pampublikong sasakyan na pinondahan sa ilalim ng 2022 budget.
Ngayong linggo, nagpatupad ng oil price hike ang mga kumpanya ng langis. Ito ang ika-pitong linggo ng sunod-sunod na pagtaas ng presyo ng produktong petrolyo.
Umabot sa P1.05 kada litro ang itinaas ng presyo ng diesel habang P1.20 naman kada litro ng gasolina at 65 sentimo naman sa kerosene.
