KINALAMPAG ni Senador Grace Poe ang Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) at National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) bunsod ng walang tigil na text scam na nararanasan ng maraming mobile phone users.
Ayon kay Poe, daang libong mga Pinoy ang binubulabog ng mga text scam na nagsasabi na tanggap na sila sa trabaho at pinapangakuan ng malaking kita.
Anya pa, nakadaragdag ng stress sa marami ang maya’t mayang text, lalo na sila na may mga utang pa.
“The unabated surge of text scams has brought further hardship and distress on our people who are already mired in debts. This must stop,” ayon kay Poe sa isang kalatas nitong Huwebes.
“We cannot allow these scammers and the syndicates behind these text schemes to prey on our countrymen who are already slumped by the effects of the pandemic and the skyrocketing cost of fuel and other basic goods,” dagdag pa ng senador.
Ayon kay Poe, chairperson ng Senate committee on public services, sandamakmaka na reklamo na ang nakarating sa kanyang tanggapan mula sa mga mobile phone users dahil sa text scam.
Sinabi ni Poe na siya mismo ay nakatatanggap ng text na sinasabing pasok na siya sa trabaho at kikita siya ng malaki.
“As more rely on digital technology to cope with the hard times, so must we intensify all necessary safeguards against heightened risks that can overturn our people’s efforts at recovery,” giit ni Poe sa DICT at NTC.
