BARANGAY Matandang Balara in Quezon City will release frogs in creeks and drainages to help curb the spread of dengue following an outbreak declaration.
Barangay secretary Margaret Lipata said they have proven that frogs are effective in controlling mosquito populations and will complement the effort with intensified cleanup drives.
The barangay first launched the anti-dengue initiative in 2019.
Earlier, the City Epidemiology and Disease Surveillance Division reported 1,769 dengue cases in the city, with 10 fatalities.
