THE policeman who went viral over his social media tirades against the arrest of former president Rodrigo Duterte has returned to work and vowed not to post seditious content online.
National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) Commissioner Rafael Calinisan said charges of inciting to sedition under Article 142 of the Revised Penal Code, in relation to the Cybercrime Prevention Act, remain pending against Patrolman Francis Steve Fontillas.
“Pat. Fontillas reported to the QCPD yesterday, March 20, 2025. He was crying and extremely apologetic,” Calinisan said.
“Fontillas also promised not to post seditious comments and hate speech on his social media pages,” the official said, adding that the patrolman will be under restrictive custody.
Earlier, Fontillas mocked the charges against him in a Facebook post: “Kung sinumang prosecutor yung pumirma sa inciting to sedition case na yan, isa ka ring malaking BANGAG! Or baka BAYAD? Lecture’an kita ng Constitution? G! Hahaha.”
He also invited fellow officers to visit him in the Netherlands, where Duterte is detained, writing: “Daanan niyo na lang ako dito sa Netherlands. Tapos libre ko kayo. Kape tayo sa Starbucks The Hague.”
