KINONDENA ng National Youth Movement for the West Philippine Se (NYMWPS) ang pinakabagong pambabarakong ginawa ng China laban sa Pilipinas kamakaialan Ayungin Shoal (Second Thomas Shoal) sa WPS.
Ayon sa grupo, lantarang paglabag sa international law ang patuloy na pambu-bully ng China, at ang pinakahuli nga ay ang mapanganib na pagharang ng China Coast Guard Vessel 5203 dahilan para mabunggo nito ang sasakyan ng Pilipinas na ginagamit para sa resupply mission sa tropa na nakapirmi sa BRP Sierra Madre sa Ayungin Shoal nitong Oktubre 22.
“The use of gray tactics for one is a manifestation of China’s wanton disregard for the rule of law. Relentless harassment of vessels, ranging from government patrols to Filipino fishermen sailing the West Philippine Sea, is totally unacceptable,” ayon sa grupo.
Una na ring kinondena ni Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. nitong Lunes ang insidente.
Anya isa itong “serious escalation of the illegal activities conducted by the Chinese government in the West Philippine Sea (WPS).”
“The Philippine government views the latest aggression by China as a blatant violation of international law. China has no legal right or authority to conduct law enforcement operations in our territorial waters. We are taking this incident seriously at the highest level of government,” ani Teodoro.
Nanawagan ang NYMWPS kay Pangulong Bongbong Marcos at iba pang ahensiya ng gobyerno na patuloy na isulong ang sovereign rights ng Pilipinas sa WPS at panindigan ang constitutional mandate para depensahan ang territorial integrity at national interest ng bansa.
