MAY malaking pagkakagastusan sa kuryente ngayong buwan.
Ito ay matapos ianunsyo ng Meralco na aabot sa P430 ang dagdag singil sa kuryente sa Agosto para sa mga household na kumukunsumo ng 200 kilowatt hours.
Sa anunsyo, sinabi ng Meralco na tataas ng P11.60 kWh ang singil sa kuryente mula sa P9.4516 kwh na presyo nitong Hunyo.
Ang pagtaas ay bunsod umano ng artificial na mababang singil nitong Hunyo at higher generation charges ngayon buwan.
Matatandaan, binawi ng Meralco ang announcement nito na rate increase noong Hunyo matapos iutos ng Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) na gawing staggered ang pagkolekta ng generation charges mula sa Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) para sa power supply noong nakaraang Mayo.
Ang staggered collection ay kumukober mula Hulyo hanggang September ngayong taon.
“We again appeal for the understanding of our customers over the delayed bills as we sought guidance from the ERC on the implementation of this month’s rate adjustment. Rest assured that Meralco will adjust the due dates to give our customers enough time to settle their bills,” ayon kay Meralco vice president at head of corporate communications Joe Zaldarriaga.
