SA loob ng apat na minuto mararanasan ang total solar eclipse ngayong Lunes, Marso 8, 2024, pero hindi sa Pilipinas.
Magiging visible lamang ito sa North America, dadaan sa Mexico, Estados Unidos at Canada.
Ayon sa National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), nangyayari ang total solar eclipse “when the moon passes between the Sun and Earth, completely blocking the face of the sun. The sky will darken as if it were dawn or dusk.”
Makikita ang total solar eclipse sa Pacific Ocean at ilang rehiyon sa North America. Ngunit tanging ang mga nasa US< Mexico at Canada lang ang makakasaksi rito.
Dito sa Pilipinas, malabo itong makita, ayon sa Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) Astronomical Observatory, dahil magaganap ito sa oras na gabi na sa bansa.
“Ibig sabihin nandun siya sa area kung nasan ‘yung other side of the world which is ‘yung western side. So dahil nasa Western side ‘yung moon, essentially dun lang makikita ‘yung solar eclipse,” ayon sa PAGASA.
Pero pwede pa rin naman itong makita, yun nga lang sa telebisyon o sa mga livestreaming platforms gaya ng YouTube ito masasaksihan.
