SOCIAL media personality Rendon Labador will lead a 93-day fitness and weight loss program for members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) as part of the agency’s crackdown on unhealthy cops.
Labador said that he will oversee the officers’ daily workouts and meals, with help from professional nutritionists.
“Ako ang magbabantay, magrerekomenda, sa tulong ng mga nutritionist, ng mga kakainin nila. Kailangan kasi workout at tamang nutrition,” he said.
The move follows a directive from newly appointed PNP chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III, who earlier warned that overweight officers could face separation from service if they fail to slim down within a year.
Labador said his role is to help the police earn back public trust through discipline and appearance.
“Dapat naman talaga bigyang-diin ang pangangatawan at physical appearance, kasi dun nila makukuha ang respeto ng taumbayan,” he said.
The 93-day program will begin with an assessment phase to determine the appropriate workout plan for each officer, followed by functional training and nutritional supervision.
