Pulse Asia: 45% Pinoy voters oppose Sara Duterte’s impeachment

Forty-five percent of Filipino voters have rejected the impeachment of Vice President Sara Duterte, survey firm Pulse Asia said Thursday.

The survey conducted from Feb. 20 to 26 also showed that 26 percent supported her impeachment while 23 percent remained undecided.

Seven percent had no opinion due to insufficient knowledge.

The non-commissioned poll, involving 2,400 randomly selected voters, had a ±2% margin of error.

Respondents were asked whether they agreed or disagreed with impeachment proceedings in the House of Representatives and Senate.

Regional Breakdown: Opposition was highest in Mindanao at 88 percent and the Visayas, 46 percent.

Those who supported the move came from Metro Manila at 45 percent and Luzon at 34 percent.

Socio-Economic Classes: Opposition was strongest among Class E at 56 percent, followed by Class ABC at 48 percent and Class D, 43 percent.

On Senate fairness, 35 percent doubted impartiality, 21 percent believed in fairness, and 33 percent were undecided, with skepticism highest in Mindanao, 66 percent.
