BINATIKOS ni Senador Grace Poe ang Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) hinggil sa tutulog-tulog nitong pagbibigay ng serbisyo sa publiko sa usapin ng water supply.
Ayon kay Poe, hindi lang dapat tagapamalita ng bad news ang MWSS kundi maging “proactive” sa pagbibigay ng solusyon lalo pa’t napipintong aabot sa siyam na oras ang service interruption simula ngayong linggo.
“MWSS should not take this matter sitting down as these recurring service cuts [would] affect over half a million consumers,” ani Poe, chair ng Senate committee on public services, sa isang kalatas nitong Linggo.
“The water interruptions have become more frequent, lasting for longer hours and affecting more people. This is unacceptable,” dagdag pa niya.
Nitong nakaraang Linggo, sinabi ni MWSS Division Manager Patrick Dizon na 600,000 kostumer ng Maynilad na nagseserbisyo sa west concession zone ng Metro Manila, ang posibleng maapektuhan ng water interruption na tatagal ng siyam na oras simula sa Miyerkules.
Ito ay bunsod ng patuloy na pagbaba ng lebel ng tubig sa Angat Dam na siyang pinagmumulan ng potable water ng 90 porsiyento ng mga residente sa buong Metro Manila.
