HINDI na palalawigin pa ang December 31 deadline ng public utility vehicle (PUV) consolidation na siyang muling ipoprotesta ng transport group na Piston sa Dec. 14 at 15 bunsod nang napipintong phaseout ng traditional jeepney at UV express unit.
Mismong si Pangulong Bongbong Marcos na ang nagsabi na wala nang extension pang mangyayari para maiconsolidate lahat ang PUV sa ilalim ng PUV Modernization Program.
“Today, we held a meeting with transport officials, and it was decided that the deadline for the consolidation of public utility vehicles (PUV) operators will not be extended,” sabi ni Marcos nitong Martes.
“Currently, 70% of all operators have already committed to and consolidated under the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP),” dagdag pa niya.
Ayon sa ilang transport groups, ang mga prankisa na hindi maiko-consolidate matapos ang deadline ay hindi na papayagan na makapag-operate, dahilan para mawalan ng trabaho ang maraming driver at operator ng trabaho.
