TINANGGAL na ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) ang mandatory na pagsusuot ng mask sa lahat ng pampublikong transportasyon kabilang na ang MRT 3, LRT 1 at 2, PNR.
Ayon sa DoTr, ito’y bilang pagtalima sa Proclamation No. 297 ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos na nagwawakas sa Covid-19 state of public health emergency sa buong bansa.
Sinabi ni Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista na inalis na rin ang physical distancing protocol sa loob ng mga pampublikong transportasyon.
“This new development is a significant step towards normalizing public transportation and supporting economic recovery,” sabi ni Bautista.
“While public safety remains a top priority, the removal of protocols aims to facilitate commuters’ convenience, contribute to the revival of the transportation industry, and help stimulate economic activity,” ayon pa Bautista.
