NAGPALABAS ng P5 milyon reward ang Department of Justice sa sinoman ang makakapagbigay ng impormasyon na ikadarakip ng mga salarin na pumatay kay Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo at limang iba pa nitong Sabado ng umaga.
Sa isang kalatas, inatasan na rin ni Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla, ang National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) na magsagawa ng imbestigasyon hinggil sa pagpaslang sa gobernador.
“Secretary Remulla has put up a reward of five million pesos to anyone who can give vital information or evidence to charge and prosecute the perpetrators and mastermind/s behind the murder-assassination of Governor Degamo and the five (5) civilians,” ayon sa kalatas.
“The violent and senseless manner by which the perpetrators carried out their plan cannot and will not be tolerated. Not only did they kill their target but they killed innocent civilians along the way. There is absolutely no room for such evil doings in this country,” dagdag pa nito.
Tiniyak rin ng departamento na kaisa nito ang lahat ng ahensiya ng pamahalaan sa pagsusulong upang makamit ang hustisya para kay Degamo.
“The Department, together with all the other law enforcement agencies, will not rest until Justice is met. The killers as well as the mastermind/s will be uncovered and will be held accountable for the incident,” dagdag pa ng DOJ.
Pinaslang si Degamo at limang iba pa ng mga armadong kalalakihan na lumusob sa kanyang tahanan sa bayan ng Pamplona habang inaayos ang pagbibigay ng ayuda sa kanyang mga constituents.
