House Speaker: 2025 brings renewed hope, commitment to serve Filipinos

SPEAKER Martin Romualdez ushered in 2025 with a message of hope, unity, and a renewed commitment to serve the Filipino people, emphasizing the need for collective action to build a stronger and more resilient nation.

“As we welcome the New Year, I extend my heartfelt greetings for a peaceful, prosperous, and hopeful 2025 to every Filipino family,” Romualdez said in his New Year’s message.

Highlighting the New Year as a symbol of fresh beginnings, Romualdez called for continued unity and collaboration to establish a more secure and inclusive future for the country.

Reflecting on 2024, he acknowledged both the triumphs and challenges faced by the nation, including the impact of successive typhoons, floods, and other natural disasters.

“Despite these trials, the spirit of bayanihan shone through, further strengthening our unity as a people,” he said.

The House leader also urged Filipinos to carry the lessons of the past year into 2025, underscoring the importance of resilience and collective effort in overcoming adversity.

“Let us remain united in our resolve to rise above challenges, rebuild what has been lost, and ensure that no Filipino is left behind,” he added.

The Speaker reaffirmed the House of Representatives’ commitment to advancing legislation that prioritizes the welfare of Filipinos.

“We remain steadfast in pursuing laws that spur economic growth, improve public services, and enhance disaster resilience,” he said, adding that the partnership between the government and the private sector will be crucial in ensuring access to essential services for all.

Romualdez also echoed the vision of President Marcos for a “Bagong Pilipinas,” where every Filipino has access to opportunities, security, and hope.

“Together, let us champion a nation where progress and hope are realities for all. A happy, prosperous, and peaceful New Year to everyone. Mabuhay ang Pilipino, at mabuhay ang ating mahal na Pilipinas!” Romualdez concluded.
