THE Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) assured its employees, members, and pensioners on Friday that their personal information remains secure following a confirmed security incident involving a compromised administrator account on a test computer.
“We assure our employees, members and pensioners that the protection of their information is of utmost priority. GSIS is implementing needed measures to protect our systems and information,” the state workers’ pension fund said in a statement.
GSIS said the breach was reported on Thursday, and an investigation is ongoing to determine its extent.
“The affected computer is a test computer and contains dummy data used for the tests,” the statement read.
GSIS is now validating the intruder’s claims in compliance with the Data Privacy Act and implementing measures to safeguard its systems and information.
