HINILING ng Department of Agriculture ang tulong ng National Bureau of Investigation at Philippine National Police sa harap ng umano’y talamak na illegal na pagbebenta ng mga hybrid rice seeds.
Sinabi ni DA Regional Field Office 02 (DA RFO 02) Regional Executive Director Narciso Edillo na kumalat ang mga larawan at video ng mga rice seeds na ibinibenta.
Iginiit ni Edillo na sa ilalim ng National Rice Program ng pamahalaan, libre ang pamamahagi ng rice seeds sa mga magsasaka.
“We condemn to the highest level such that will not only affect the implementation of government programs but our farmers who will be again victims of this controversy,” sabi ni Edillo.
Aniya, nakikipag-ugnayan na ang DA sa NBI, PNP, lokal na pamahalaan, pribadong seed companies para matukoy ang nasa likod ng illegal na aktibidad.
“DA RFO 02 shall fully cooperate with government agencies, LGUs and private sector to track the brains behind this act,” dagdag niya.
