BULACAN’S Chelsea Manalo is the new Miss Universe Philippines!
The coronation night was held last night, May 22, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay City.
Miss Universe 2023 titleholder Michelle Dee passed the crown to Chelsea during the coronation night.
Manalo bested 52 other aspirants and will
compete in the 73rd Miss Universe pageant to be held in Mexico later this year.
The Bulakeña queen, who will attempt to become the fifth Filipino woman to bring home the crown, competed at the 2017 Miss World Philippines pageant, where she finished in the Top 15.
Joining Manalo in the Top 5 were Stacey Gabriel of Cainta (1st runner-up), Ma. Ahtisa Manalo of Quezon Province (2nd runner-up), Tarah Valencia of Baguio (3rd runner-up), and Christi Lynn McGarry of Taguig (4th runner-up). All four will receive national titles in a separate ceremony.
Emmy award-winning host Jeannie Mai hosted the 2024 ceremonies with 2022 Miss Universe R’Bonney Gabriel, Kapuso actors Alden Richards and Gabbi Garcia, and Tim Yap.
Thai superstar Win Metawin, “RuPaul’s Drag Race UK vs the World” season 2 finalist Marina Summers, and pop band Lola Amour performed during the program.
