HINDI magbibitiw sa kanyang pwesto bilang kalihim ng Department of Agriculture si Pangulong Bongbong Marcos.
Anya, hangga’t hindi nasisiguro ang food security at maayos na kabuhayan ng mga magsasaka, mananatili siyang kalihim ng departamento.
Ito ang naging pahayag ni Marcos nitong Biyernes matapos ang pag-turnover ng 20,000 metric tons ng urea fertilizer na ibinigay ng China sa Valenzuela City.
Nang mausisa kung may napipili na siyang papalit sa kanya sa DA, sagot ng pangulo: “I’m asking all of them (Cabinet members). I’m waiting for them to volunteer as secretary. They don’t want me to leave,” sabi ni Marcos.
Tiniyak niya na bago siya umalis sa DA, ay may maayos na sistema na gagarantiya sa maayos na food supply sa bansa.
“What I aspire is by the time I leave the DA, we will have systems in place so that we can guarantee the food supply of the Philippines, number one; we can guarantee that the prices are affordable and, number three, that our farmers make a good living,” pahayag nito.
“Until we finish that, I suppose you will just have to put up with me as DA secretary,” giit pa niya.
