MAKABUBUTI na bumalik na sa bansa si Negros Oriental Rep. Arnolfo Teves Jr., ayon kay Pangulong Bongbong Marcos, matapos ibasura ang aplikasyon ng kongresista para sa political asylum sa Timor-Leste.
Ayon kay Marcos, nakausap niya si Timor-Leste Prime Minister Taur Matan Ruak sa isinagawang ika-42 Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit sa Indonesia.
“It turns out that Congressman Arnie Teves applied for political asylum but was denied. I think they will continue to go through the process. May appeal process pa to those who are applying,” ani Marcos nang makapanaym ng mga mamahayag habang sakay ng presidential plane pauwi sa Maynila.
Nitong Martes, inanunsyo ng Department of Foreign Affairs na ibinasura ng Timor-Leste and aplikasyon ni Teves. Gayunman, maaari pa ring i-apela ng kongresista ang desisyon.
“Come home,” ang tanging payo ni Marcos kay Teves.
“That’s the best advice I can give him.”
