AABOT sa 57,000 sako ng asukal na in-import sa Thailand ang nadiskubre sa isang warehouse sa Quezon City ngayong araw.
Hindi naman pinangalanan ang may-ari ng warehouse na “binista” ng mga tauhan ng Bureau of Customs (BOC) at militar.
Ayon sa otoridad, P285 milyon ang halaga ng mga asukal. Bawat sako ay may bigat na 50 kilo at may presyong P5,000.
“The composite team and the customs examiners conduct a routinary inventory and inspection of incoming goods,” sabi sa kalatas ng BOC.
“Clearances from the Sugar Regulatory Administration covering the goods are also validated by the team,” dagdag nito.
