SAMANTHA MAE BERNARDO, the Philippines bet in the Miss Grand International, slayed in her Philippine eagle-inspired costume during the national costume competition on Wednesday night in Thailand.
“AGILA”, is considered the largest of the extant eagles in terms of length and wing surface, the rarest and most powerful birds in the world.
The costume designed by Patrick Isorena, also intends to create awareness as the Philippine Eagle is critically endangered, mainly due to massive loss of habitat resulting from deforestation in most of its range.
The coronation night of Miss Grand International is set to be held in Bangkok, Thailand on March 27.
The Philippines has yet to win a Miss Grand International crown.
