THE weather bureau on Tuesday lifted tropical cyclone wind signals hoisted in several areas as Typhoon Aghon slightly weakened.
Aghon now packs maximum sustained winds of 130 kph near the center and gusts of up to 160 kph, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its 5 a.m. bulletin.
It was last tracked 315 km. east of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, moving northeast at 15 kph and likely to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Wednesday.
Aghon is unlikely to directly bring a significant amount of rainfall in the next three days.
However, the southwesterly windflow is forecast to bring moderate to heavy rains over Western Visayas and the western portion of Central and Southern Luzon in the next three days.
Meanwhile, all gale warning for coastal waters have been lifted. Aghon, however, will cause moderate to rough seas over the coastal waters of Cagayan (eastern coast), Isabela, northern Aurora, and the northern coastal waters of Polillo Islands, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, and Catanduanes.
