THE country will get rain showers on Thursday due to three weather systems.
The low-pressure area located 245 km. east of Surigao City, Surigao del Norte as of 3 a.m. will bring scattered rains and thunderstorms over the Visayas and Mindanao.
Scattered rains and thunderstorms are also forecast in the Bicol region and Quezon due to the shear line affecting the eastern section of Southern Luzon.
Heavy to intense rains will be experienced in Sorsogon, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Samar, Biliran, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Dinagat Islands, and Surigao del Norte.
Moderate to heavy rainfall will prevail over Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, Masbate, Cebu, Bohol, Camiguin, Misamis Oriental, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, and Surigao del Sur.
Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon or “amihan” affecting the rest of Luzon will cause light rains over Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera region, Aurora, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon, and isolated light rains over the rest of the island.
The northern and western sections of Northern Luzon will experience strong to gale winds and rough to very rough seas, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters will prevail across the eastern section of the country.
The rest of the archipelago will have light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said. (PNA)
