METRO Manila and other parts of Southern Luzon and Eastern Visayas will have a rainy Christmas day due to the shear line, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Wednesday.
In its 4 a.m. bulletin, the weather bureau said Aurora, Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur and Catanduanes would experience heavy to intense rains.
Moderate to heavy rains will prevail over Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, Marinduque, Romblon, Oriental Mindoro, and Northern Samar.
PAGASA warned that “numerous flooding events” are likely, especially in areas that are urbanized, low lying, or near rivers, and landslide is likely in moderate to highly susceptible areas.
Cagayan Valley and Cordillera Administrative Region will have cloudy skies with rains while Ilocos Region will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to northeast monsoon or “amihan”.
The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to easterlies.
Northern Luzon and the eastern sections of Central and Southern Luzon will experience rough seas due to strong winds heading northeast to east.
The temperature ranges between 24.6 °C and 28.2 °C. (PNA)
