SEVERAL areas in the country will continue to experience rain showers due to the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) and the easterlies, the weather bureau said Thursday.
The ITCZ affecting Palawan will bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms across the province. Moderate to heavy rains could result in flash floods or landslides, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its 4 a.m. bulletin.
The easterlies affecting the eastern section of the country will bring isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Caraga, Davao Region, Eastern Visayas, Cagayan Valley, Bicol Region, Aurora and Quezon.
Those areas could also experience moderate to heavy rains and severe thunderstorms that could result in flash floods and landslides, according to PAGASA.
Meanwhile, the rest of the country will continue to experience isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.
Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas still prevail across the archipelago.
No tropical cyclone was seen to affect the country, PAGASA forecaster Aldczar Aurelio said.
The ITCZ is forecast to be the prevailing weather system from Friday to Saturday, and could affect the Visayas, Mindanao and Southern Luzon, he said. (PNA)
