SOME areas in the country will experience rains due to the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), the weather bureau said Thursday.

This will bring scattered rains and thunderstorms over Zamboanga Peninsula, Davao Occidental, Sarangani, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, and Palawan.

The ITCZ will likewise bring isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the rest of Soccsksargen, BARMM, and Davao Region.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said flash floods or landslides are possible in those areas during moderate to heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country will experience isolated rain showers caused by the easterlies and localized thunderstorms.

Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas continue to prevail across the archipelago.

PAGASA said no low pressure area is monitored for possible tropical cyclone formation.  (PNA)
